Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14, 1980) was an American actor, singer and dancer. Her early Broadway roles include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a collaborator in projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which produced Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first big role. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and born in Denver, now spends time living in Los Angeles and New York.
